A powerful collaboration brings biodegradable fishing bait a step closer.
Eco-friendly fishing bait from Intelligent Gels faced a challenge with evolving EU regulations on natural colourings.
Managing director Matt Wilson and the team at Intelligent Gels, who are based at NETPark, County Durham worked with Arrow to get a deep understanding of gel formulations and a clear path to EU compliance. Their innovative product is 95% ready for market.
Arrow is a collaboration between Durham University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University and the University of Sunderland delivering innovation support to North East businesses. It is part funded by the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund through Durham County Council and The North East Combined Authority.
Intelligent Gels is a successful company that provides answers to previously unsolvable problems by changing the way that products are used.
They’re pioneers in eco-friendly innovations, crafting gel-based solutions for use in industries as diverse as food, horticulture, oil and gas.
Recently, they embarked on a bold mission to create an eco-friendly fishing bait that would eliminate the need for plastics and foams, safeguarding aquatic ecosystems.
