Innovate UK Launches £1.8 Million 'Cyber Local 2025-2026' Competition to Boost Regional Cyber Security


UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £1.8 million to target the growth of the cyber security sector and the development of cyber security skills.

Innovate UK, in collaboration with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), has announced the 'Cyber Local 2025-2026' competition, offering up to £1.8 million in funding to enhance the UK's cyber security sector and address regional skills disparities. ​


The initiative aims to support impactful regional projects that foster the growth of cyber security ecosystems and develop essential skills within the sector. Eligible projects must be delivered in one of nine specified geographical areas:

  • North West England​

  • South West England​

  • Yorkshire and Humber​

  • North East England​

  • East Midlands​

  • West Midlands​

  • South East England​

  • East of England​

  • London
