Quorum Success Story

Quorum success story

INNNOVATIVE software company, Quorum, made the short journey from Teesside to the NETPark Incubator in 2014 and have never looked back.

Quorum, which was established in 2002, supplies expert advice, software and services to organisations such as EDF Energy, Orsted, in Denmark, Flexitricity and Centrica. Its products include the Sentinel product, which enables communication with National Grid and supports the efficient operation of power stations in the UK market.

Since making the move to NETPark, Quorum has grown its product range, staff numbers, skills and experience and has developed an exceptional reputation in the energy market.

As Quorum expanded, the team at NETPark helped facilitate their growth needs providing the flexibility to take on more space as the company grows. After doubling the number of clients in 2018 the team at NETPark helped Quorum create 1,200 sq ft of office space for its 14 staff at the NETPark’s new Explorer buildings in 2018. Quorum has increased its turnover by around 20% in each of the past 3 years, with an expected turnover this year of £2 million and now employs 18 staff.

Paul Usher, commercial director, said: “NETPark has been a great place for us. The location is central for us, with a large number of our customers being based in both Scotland and England and is really convenient for them to fly into Newcastle Airport or get the train to Durham. The staff at Business Durham have been fantastic and have done everything possible to facilitate our growth including the move to NETPark Explorer.”

Janet Todd, manager of NETPark: “Quorum is an exceptional company to work with. They have a very considered approach to doing business and a great reputation within their sector, having recently won a number of contracts, some of them with big energy providers, which further enhances their growing portfolio of clients. We look forward to supporting them for many years to come.”
